I returned the book easily & received a refund. I bought the book new at my college with the voucher & the book was very informative. Think of the book as the DMV handbook. There is only so much it can teach you. The rest you will learn with experience. This book was easy to read & contains somewhat bold print. The chapters are pretty short & contain answers to the end of chapter questions. I answered all the end of chapter questions & did the review my professor provided us with. I passed the Servepro management test with flying colors. Most of the questions I was asked from Servepro were things I learned via the book. Good book just be sure the book you order contains the voucher or purchase it from Servepro directly. Just be VERY SURE when ordering to verify the voucher you ordered is for the online test & is NOT the one you fill in the bubbles.Product details

It's a rental which i'm happy about I don't need to keep the book anyways. It's clean, pages aren't sticky. Its in like new condition. I do the review questions by writing them out so I won't be needing to write in this at all and can't wait to send it back
Did not get the voucher that I paid for and the customer service wasn't much help, they offered me a 5 dollar gift card, like that really helps.
This book is very easy to read. The chapters and information is clear and to the point. I recently took the servsafe exam and only missed 3 questions. I purchased my book new and it included the servsafe exam sheet. The school book store was selling the book for 90$ and most of my classmates bought it because they feared the exam sheet wouldn't be included but if you buy it new, the exam sheet is included and if you are a student you can sign up for prime at a discounted rate or free (with a free trial) and get it in two days.
I decided to buy this book because it claimed it was new and the price was fair. IT WAS NOT A NEW ONE! It was obvious a used one, in a neat condition thou. This book should includes a code to take a test online. The code was missing so that means that i have to buy it separate. I have to pay $50.00 for just that code. Very disappointed! It is like paying for a brand new book from borders without the two weeks i had to wait to be delivered. I learn my lesson, I am not buying more books here.
if you are planning to buy a new book, make sure it is NEW and includes everything you need. Nowadays books are coming with access to websites with more useful information and/or testing. I would say, save the hassle and buy one from a place you are sure are new. Unless you are just expecting the hard copy of the book.
Used for 1st year CHEF class. This book is organized with pictures, lists, highlight boxes, preview and review sections, key points, a glossary and an index. Some sections seem a bit disorganized even though the author(s) claim it has been deliberately set up for student success. Mheh.
ServSafe is an excellent book for educational purposes. It is well structured, very organized and to the point. The key terms, discussion topics and questions in the back of the chapter are helpful in preparing for the ServSafe exam. The extraneous info is minimized, except for Chapter 2. Chapter 2 covers pathogens (bacterias, toxins, fungi and parasites) in a fair amount of detail. The ServSafe exam did not ask many questions specifically on pathogens.
I purchased the book because at the last minute I needed the test sheet. When, in five years, I need to take the test again I will not purchase the book but use the online resources I found when I looked up "ServSafe." I paid for one of the online classes and three of the questions on the assessment were referenced from the online class I took. There are also very helpful apps. My only e commendation is to order the test sheet early so that you don't have to pay for the book to get it. Maybe soon the book will be on line or the school will sell the test sheets without the book!
